Description:
Antique Thomas Meg Co Leather Barber's Straight Edge Razor Strop Sharper. This is nice example of an antique strop, it was made by the Thomas Med Company of Dayton, Ohio. The top has a metal piece that so the strop could be attached to a belt or counter, the razor was then slid along the leather and sharpened. This strop has two leathers, one is marked Sharpen and the other is marked Finish. The front one is also marked with The Thomas Meg Co, Dayton, Ohio, it is about 26" long and about 2 1/4" wide. In good condition considering the age, it does have some nicks in it and one edge has a small piece out of it. Due to the age of it I would not recommend actually using it. It comes from a smoke free environment and would be nice addition to your collection!
