Description: These are a pair of bookends, not a book slide. They date c1870-1890, no doubt Grand Tour Souvenirs from Sorrento, Italy. They are carved from olive wood banded with wooden "micro-mosaic" in a number of colors. The central medallions feature cupids cavorting with a bird & a dolphin. There are some minor cracks as well as the odd "tile" missing. One bookend is in great condition, the other fair. A lovely genuine antique.... To view MORE BOOKENDS I have listed please click on the "VIEW THIS DEALER'S OTHER ITEMS" button on the left, then type in the search box....Please enlarge my photos for a closer look.... Canadians will pay applicable taxes....Insured & tracked shipping to addresses in North America should be $12
