Item Description:
This is handsome antique solid oak walnut sideboard. Its top surface is in good condition though it has some age appropriate stains that can be overlooked and its back splash has decorative carved leaf design on its corners. This sideboard has two cabinets on the sides with removable shelves. Its doors are paneled and they are crossbanded. They have a beautiful round carved design on their center, and though the doors have some discoloration it only adds to the character of the furniture and the validity of its age, circa 1930. There are two smooth operating drawers well constructed with dovetail joinery. They each have a set of two lovely brass handles and the top drawer has a convenient felt lined divider. Below the drawers is an additional cabinet with a door that opens vertically. All the cabinet doors and the drawers have working lock mechanism except the second drawer which seems to be stuck, but it may be repaired. Three keys are included. The front of this sideboard has a beautiful fretwork design all around its border and it has large baluster legs with a box stretcher at the bottom. This is a gorgeous sideboard which is overall in good cosmetic and structural condition and is very strong and sturdy. It is a well crafted piece of furniture and should last a lifetime. It is also suitable for many decors.
