Antique Scale Cast Iron Weighted Detecto Large 16 Ounces; we purchased this Antique “Ounce Scale” from a local auction here on the east coast, we have started “collecting” antique and vintage scales to offer for sale. After hearing the rising interest in vintage cookware and especially kitchen scales, it still amazes me how a famous cook or celebrity can start collecting something and then the item goes HOT and sought after!
We try hard to purchase all unique vintage and antique kitchen scales. We are not sure whether this antique “Cast Iron” Scale made by Detecto was used in the kitchens or at hardware stores. However when we saw this one at auction we had to have it as its condition is EXCELLENT!
Made by Detecto of New York USA, this antique scale measures 19 ½ inches long and 7 inches high, 9 inches deep overall. The disk are 9 inches in diameter, the base is 12 inches long 5 ¾ inches deep. The weight limit is 16oz.
Quite heavy this Antique Cast Iron weights 16 pounds the shipping cost reflects this shipping FedEx Ground.
Though this Antique Scale is slightly dirty it is in excellent condition. The Scale is marked “Detecto”, “New York, NY, USA” these marks are embossed into the base of the scale and found on the numeric brass bar as well.
