Description:
An antique French sterling silver napkin by one of Paris’s most celebrated silversmiths, Puiforcat. The napkin ring is surrounded by small stars set in a center band with machine engraved decoration. The stars are beautifully cut in alternating rows of two and three with great precision. Beaded borders and an oval cartouche add the finishing touches. It is marked for .950 sterling as denoted by the Minerve 1st. Titre mark and also with the Puiforcat's mark (EP with a feather inbetween) Late 19th. Century. The large cartouche is blank, perfect for adding your own monogram. The napkin ring measures 1 5/8" in width and the diameter or opening is 2". The weight is approx 29gr. In very good antique condition with surface scratches in accordane with age and use. The top and bottom rims have minor bends that I have tried to capture in the pictures. Item ID: 2090035
