Description: This is a primitive metal Dragon or foo dog that came off an old monument. We purchased it from an antique dealer who dealt only in Asian culture and they guaranteed this was primitive and was part of an old monument from a buddhist temple. In Chinese, These Fu or FOO Dogs are powerful mythic protectors that have traditionally stood in front of Chinese Imperial palaces, temples, emperors' tombs,. This is really heavy and he has a great amount of detail on all the way down to his flair tail. This measures 3 1/2" tall and 4" long. He is in great shape with no chips and or nicks. Lots of lovely old patina on this.
