That's all there is to it! Welcome! We have for sale an exquisite silk thread on silk fabric Persian or Arabic Islamic tapestry measuring 74 inches wide by 45 inches long. This gorgeous tapestry features woven and embroidered silk threads in jewel-tone shades of yellow, green, blue and mauve with black detail on an ecru silk ground. The center features a foliate and Moorish design with two large rosette patterns, bordered by a pattern of Islamic style symbols, finished at the edges by an additional 2 1/2 inches of knotted yellow silk thread. This tapestry could have served as a decorative item, or as a ritual table covering. The fabric would indicate that it dates from the earlier part of the 20th century. All the fringe appears to be intact, although somewhat crumpled. No rips, runs, holes or stains are detected. Just a couple of minor thread snags and fold marks from storage.
