Item Description:
This is a gorgeous antique oak Belgium sideboard server buffet with marble top. Its top variegated marble top is in very good condition even though it has some slight marks that are easily overlooked. The marble is framed with a lovely carved beaded edge on its front and sides. A small section of this beaded wood trim is missing on the right side but since it is at the back it is not noticeable at first glance. Under the marble top there are two smooth operating drawers well constructed with dovetail joinery and they have beautiful floral carving with lovely handles. This server has a large cabinet with paneled doors and the doors have a beautiful floral carving on top. Inside the cabinet there are two shelves, one that is removable, and though the shelves have some age appropriate dark areas they can be easily covered with fabric, wallpaper or simply painted. The bottom shelf seems to be slightly warped but that doesn’t interfere with its main function of storage since both shelves are strong and solid. This buffet is paneled on the sides and is fluted under the cabinet and front of the feet. The left foot has a minor wood separation on its side but it can easily be repaired at home if necessary. Overall this beautiful sideboard is in good cosmetic and structural condition for its age, circa 1930. It is well constructed and should last you a lifetime. It is also suitable for many decors therefore no matter where it is placed it will enhance your home décor.
