Description:
This solid-oak barley twist Welsh closed dresser was crafted in the Wales around 1920. The tiger oak grain has developed a lovely patina. This piece is actually (2) seperate pieces. The top has a moulded cornice and a carved frieze above the closed rack. The closed rack has (2) shelves with shaped skirts running underneath them. Double-open twist columns add decorative appeal between each shelf. The base has a moulded top and a beautifully carved cross-stretcher across the front. There are (2) central drawers and (2) cupboards at either side on the base. Each barley twist legs sits atop flattened bun feet. Bobbin-turned cross stretchers run down either side. There are a few water rings on the top surface (pictured above). This piece however remains in very good condition and would make a gorgeous addition to any kitchen or dining room. Don't miss it!
