Description: This cheval screen was crafted in England around 1920. It is solid oak with a barley twist design on the stretchers and supports. The inset is hammered copper with a clipper ship design. It has not been polished therefore the tarnish remains to give the image more depth. The feet are wide set which provide the screen with ample support. The wood is beginning to seperate where the pieces conjoin around the copper inset (pictured above). Yet the firescreen remains sturdy and in good shape. This would make a lovely addition to any home.
