Description:
Nine tube Victorian Hall clock. Movement by Elliott of London, tubes signed Walter Durfee, Providence, R.I., along with the appropriate patent dates. Mahogany case with swan's neck pediment, having its original three turned wood finials, with paneled keystone shaped side windows, waist with reeded quarter columns, beveled glass in the front door and at the side windows, above a paneled rectangular base, above four carved lion's paw feet. Elliott movement of three train styling with quarter hour striking on the nine tubes. Ornate Elliott dial with phases of the moon in the lunette, subsidiary dials for strike / silent and changing of the tunes. Independent seconds dial, finely cut steel hands, ornate pierced leaf and foliate brass carvings throughout the center part of the dial and the spandral areas. Name plate on the dial is of the retailer "Henry Oemisch," Rochester, NY. Clock is in fine working order, polished weights, pendulum, and tubes. Dial has slight wear to the silvering. Original locks and keys to bonnet and waist. Dimensions: Height is approx. 8 feet tall. Width is 24" at its widest point. Depth is approx. 16" measured at the feet.
