Description: This is a very nice 19th century snuff box made of papier-mâché being solid black with a lovely decoration on the top of a diamond. The diamond is outlined in silver or pewter and the center of the diamond is filled with mother of pearl chips. The condition overall is very very good – it has a little bit of deterioration right at the seam of the base. This is quite natural and just one of those things that happen often to papier-mâché over a long period of time. It does not show and the box is very presentable. It measures 3 3/8” x 1 5/8” x 1”.
