Description:
This beautiful antique Scottish mahogany chest of drawers was created around 1890 in Scotland. The mahogany is beautiful with a well-developed patina, color which accentuates the flame mahogany used for the drawer. There are barley twist columns which run along either side of the drawers. This piece has a total of (8) drawers. The top drawer is unique to Scottish chests below it are (4) drawers, (2) of those drawers are 10" deep. They all sit atop (3) graduated long drawers. The drawer boasts unpretentious knob handles and hand-crafted dovetailed joints in the front and rear. The bottom drawer is about 9" deep. Turned toupie feet provide sturdy support so there is no need to worry about stability. There is some minor chipping on this piece and a wood split on the top (pictured above). There are locks but no keys. The utilitarian design makes this chest make this a piece that will remain a beautiful addition to any home.
