Description:
This lovely antique bombe shaped commode in the French Louis XV style features a forest green laque de chine finish with figural decoration, cast bronze mounts, and Breche maroon marble top. It measures 44.5" wide, 33.75" tall and 22.25" deep, and has two drawers. A paper label on the top of the frame reads "Envoi de E Kahn & Cie 84 Avenue Ledru-Rollin, Paris". Overall condition is excellent. There is an old stress fracture and repair to the marble, some minor paint losses, chipping, and age-appropriate wear which is consistent with age. Drawer dovetails are hand-cut. This item resides with our client in midtown Manhattan ( New York City ) and may be seen by appointment. Additional images forwarded upon request. ( hantiques )
