Description:
Absolutely wonderful Irish compote dating from the very early 19th century approx 1820. It has a gorgeous, cut scalloped flowing top edge with a paneled center. It has that spectacular wonderful colorless Irish glass. It is flint and when you tap it - it rings like a bell. It is in relatively perfect condition and I say relative because it is very very hard to find an Irish piece of glass that is totally perfect. This one has just a few little rough flea bites along the top scalloped edge the largest one being the size of a little finger nail underneath the edge and there are two of those. There are approx two or three little flea bite sections. Other then that free flowing, elegant, superior lines, and quiet a rare find these days! It measures 9 at highest with an overall diameter of 7 ½.
