Description:
This handsome Equestrian Trophy is engraved as follows: "BORBRIDGE CUP for BEST MATCHED PAIR of GELDINGS". The reverse lists the winners, and they are: "Geo. Tucker and 4th Con. Sidney". This is a Canadian Cup made by the P.W. Ellis Silver Co. which was founded in 1877 and closed in 1928. The trophy bears no date but judging by the style I would date it c1905 - 1915. It is mounted on a japanned turned wooden base which is original & in fine condition as is the trophy itself. No dents or scratches. Softly gilded interior. A classic loving cup that displays very well... ...To view the many OTHER TROPHIES incl.
