Antique gilt BRONZE Sculptural mantel clock c1820 This early French mantel clock is made in the first quarter of 19th Century. Gilt bronze rectangular case is flancked by figurine of pallas Athene ( Pallás Athêna ) and a Roman holding together a shield. in front of the case engraved Roman war attributes. Very fine detailed clock is in very good condition due to the age. Enameled dial with Roman numerals signed as shown on the picture. At the back movement protected by original dome glass door. Approx 10 days anchor movement with silk suspended pendulum with count wheel bell striking on the large bell at every 1/1 and ½ hours. All is in very good condition. Key & pendulum included.
