Description:
This gorgeous oak chest of drawers was hand-crafted in Georgian England around 1820 and recently restored by a third-generation cabinet maker in England. The oak, having developed a deep, lustrous patina over a period of two centuries, boasts a rich complexion and impressive, distinct grain. Solid-brass winged drop pulls contrast beautifully with the wood, while the fluted edging, shaped skirt and spade feet pronounce the figure of the dresser. The effect is a bold, exquisite appearance that should continue to grow even more beautiful with successive generations. And with a classic two-over-three drawer design (each of the drawers featuring hand-cut dovetails, this dresser provides plenty of storage space, too! The restoration was performed excellently, so all the old stress marks add a great deal of character to the piece, and structural integrity remains excellent. Perhaps the only flaw is that the drawers operate with a little difficulty, which is to be expected of a two-hundred-year-old dresser. Nevertheless, this is a superb Georgian chest of drawers and would make a fantastic addition to any home!
