Description:
This wonderful, solid mahogany sideboard was hand-crafted in England around 1940. Since then, the wood has come to acquire a lovely patina, which nicely accents the natural beauty of the mahogany. Inside, the piece retains a color closer to its original, redder mahogany. The piece contains generous storage space, and the cabinets on either side lock with accompanying keys. The cabinet on the left contains a shelf, the cabinet on the right contains a shelf and a drawer, and three drawers comprise the center section. The uppermost drawer is divided into three sections and is lined with green suede. The paneled backsplash contains a unique bubble mirror, though unfortunately it has some subtle spotting, which is inevitable as mirrors age. The cabriole feet, though still quite sturdy, have sustained considerable scraping over the decades. There are also a chip and a split in the upper moulding of the backsplash. Otherwise, condition remains very good, and this piece should serve any home well!
