Antique French Silver Plate & Glass Cruet Bottle Stand
Description: Antique Cailar & Bayard Silverplate & Etched Glass Bottle Cruet Stand, Late 19th-Early 20th C. France. The glass bottles are engraved with a wide Greek Key pattern bands and feature undulating rims. The bottles are fitted in a two compartment silver plated stand with central carrying handle and round base with beaded rim. The two additional compartments to the handle appear to be stands for the stoppers. Cailar Bayard was later acquired by Christofle. The underside of the base is marked with "C B" maker's mark, "CAILAR & BAYARD" mark and "10". Dimensions: 9-5/8" High, 8-1/8" Long, 4-3/8" Wide. Weight: 2.63lbs. (42oz.) Condition: The silver is lightly tarnished. One of the engraved stoppers is missing and has been replaced with a taller stopper with gilt details. The interior of one bottle has an evenly etched surface. There is some light shelf-wear (surface scratching) to the underside of each bottle. There is some rubbing/wear to the silverplate along the edges of the stand. Otherwise, the set is in good condition.
