Description: 19th century French Louis XVI revival bronze gilt pair of Andirons and fender - On toppe feet a tiered Neo-Classic construction with semi nude grotesque, mythological beast figures ending with detachable spheres. The central body displays drapes held by a center cartouche or medallion with floral motifs in the center. Below the cartouches are of swags , garlands acanthus leaves and diminutive & detachable flame top urns. The open work cornice shaped fender has a raised border of ribbon tied foliate and all centered by ribbon-tied shield of classical form which is detachable. In excellent condition for their advanced age, gilding is original and traces of gold noted. One round finial sphere has minor bends. Measures 38 1/2" wide and 17" tall, expandable up to 47" wide. We also have the matching log holders we will be adding to our shop soon.
