Description:
This is an old parlor game manufactured by the Flinch Card Co. in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was created by A.J. Patterson, copyright 1901 and 1902, then by The Flinch Card Co. in 1903, revised in 1913. It comes complete with the original instruction booklet, which is in excellent condition. I read through the rules of the game and it sounds similar to my favorite card game, Spite and Malice. The box is cardboard covered with an oxblood-color paper; on the top in wonderful old typeface ( see photo ) is printed Flinch Trademark Registered Manufactured by Flinch Card Co. Kalamazoo, Mich. The corners/ edges of the box show some wear to the paper, as does the bottom, and the two side seams of the top are split ( the corners are not though, so the shape of the lid holds ) . There are some darker areas on the paper here and there. The cards are in very good used condition.
" More Simple Than Authors. More Scientific Than Whist " says the instruction booklet.
