Description:
Satin or Poie de Soie ? I'm not a fabrics expert. All I can say that the satin used here is of fine quality as is the artistic rendition of the hand-painted roses. The shading is absolutely lovely! The backing consists of polished cotton. The sticks and guards are finely pierced French Ivory, a plastic produced to simulate ivory. It was first produced by the Xylonite Company in 1866. Written in ink on the reverse: "Ella Taylor Cox from her Harriet Withers Feb. 18, 1889" The condition is very good. No tears or rips. No stains. The spot toward the left is gilding. Very slight fraying to some areas, nothing major. Slight foxing to the French Ivory....To view MORE INTERESTING OBJECTS I have listed, just click on the "VIEW THIS DEALER'S OTHER ITEMS" button on the left....Canadians will pay applicable taxes...Tracked & insured shipping to addresses in North America is $14 or less
