Item Description:
This is a handsome antique English solid walnut coal box cabinet. Its top surface is in very good condition and it has a lovely pierced back with two handles on the sides. One of the handles has wood separation but it still can be used as the wood is very strong. It features a removable coal container inside that has two convenient handles that swivel when used and its door has a lovely handle and a beautiful brass artwork of an exotic sea creature. The side may show a minor wood separation on the bottom but it is not distracting at all, and there seems to be a piece of wood trim missing on the inside but it still works properly. Overall this coal box is in very good cosmetic and structural condition for its age, circa 1899. It would serve great as a nightstand or a fancy trash can and it is very heavy for its size, very strong and sturdy.
