Item Description:
This is a beautiful Antique English Kingsland Walnut Curio Display Showcase Cabinet. It has a beautiful shaped top surface and it features 3 shelves, 2 of glass removable, a mirrored back with golden stripes, a scalloped centered back area that has a distinguished fabric with golden foliage and 2 *astragal wood glazed doors with traditional wooden designs that have a lock mechanism with 1 key present. One glass shelf has a very small chip which is barely noticeable, one door is slightly warped and the other is missing part of its hardware but it still locks. This piece may show minor age appropriate signs of wear including wood imperfections but as shown it is overall in very good cosmetic and structural condition and it is strong and sturdy. It is a lovely piece to have in any room.

What is astragal (wood or lead) glazing? As it pertains to later period furniture, it is a method of securing glass to the straight, semi-circular, or shaped moldings found on glass doors and windows of furniture. On newer reproduction furniture, the astragal molding may set atop the glass to give the appearance of glazing where on older English furniture, it is not uncommon for each piece of glass to be cut to shape and glazed into the molding.
