Description: This gorgeous mahogany gramophone sideboard was hand-crafted in Edwardian England around 1900. Over the years, the wood has developed a lovely patina that enriches the wood's distinct, wispy grain and warm, lustrous complexion. Especially striking in this piece's appearance is the use of elegant quarter veneering on the face, and together with the fine cabriole legs and recessed paneling on the sides, this piece looks incredible! With cabinet space as well as a felt-lined drawer and a serving counter, this gramophone sideboard would be great for entertaining! In fact, when this piece was made, it would have been used to serve food and play music--just as it can be used today. With a total of three needles, this working gramophone comes equipped with Litolff's Scherzo Symphonique from his Fourth Concerto and still sounds great. The piece has sustained only the most minor surface wear that comes with age, other than a minor spot on the counter as well as spotting on the mirror that inevitably develops as the silver beneath the surface ages. The counter has also developed an age split, which is a purely cosmetic phenomenon that does not affect structural integrity and results, as the term indicates, from age only. All solid wood pieces eventually develop age splits and they are most often considered aesthetically pleasing and markers of great age. This fantastic English gramophone sideboard will continue to function and grow more beautiful for generations to come, so don't miss your chance to make it a part of your home today!
