Description:
This lavish and highly decorative vanity jar was obviously the property of a very wealthy lady or gentleman during the latter part of the 19th century.
The highly decorated and beautifully shaped repousse lid is made from English solid or sterling silver and plated in gold. The lid is clearly hallmarked for London 1891 together with the makers mark NM for Norman Marshall.
The cartouche on the top of the lid has a pair of very decorative intertwined initials, I think A and S.
Wonderful undamaged condition with spectacular original gilding. Measures 3" x 2" x 4 1/4" tall. See also item # 30507 for the matching hipflask, each sold separately.
Shipping and insurance are included.
