Description:
Late 18th Century or early 19th Century Dutch Marquetry Curio Cabinet. I actually have never seen a Dutch marquetry piece in this form – I absolutely love it. It has great signs of age and the surface is rich and lustrous. The contrast with the dark wood and lighter color inlays is spectacular along with the florals all the way around. Each shelf, and there are three, has a central oval medallion in floral designs. It has a mirror back; the glass is in all good condition. As you can see it has the turned columns on the front and the construction of this piece leaves me to believe that it is late 18th century or early 19th century. The condition is absolutely incredible I really don’t see and damage except for a few minor seem separations that have been filled – absolutely a magnificent piece of furniture. It measures 40”w x 61 ¾”h x 16” deep - and that is the beauty part 16” deep is absolutely perfect.
