Description: Antique Deux Corps-European Oak H=100 1/2 (including crown), Depth of Lower Section=24, Width of Lower Section=57 1/2 3 Keys- Very Good Antique Condition -Circa 1800 This magnificent antique French deux corps, with very deep carving, has all the attributes of the Louis XV style. The crown has a cartouche with a stylized shell, c-scrolls, and trailing foliage with rosettes are on either side. The freize has a central mask of a smiling young woman with rinceau to either side. The upper recessed cabinet, with two doors and pewter hinges, has fluting, acanthus leaves, rosettes, scrolling foliage, scalloped shells, banding surrounding raised conforming center panels. The bottom rectangular cabinet with serpentine top, has an indented frieze with three drawers atop two doors. The drawer frontages have fielded diagonal diaper grounds with florets and the two side drawers have cast iron drop pulls. To either side of the center drawer are intertwined c-scrolls around a grounded convex oval design. The door frontages have conforming raised panels with drapery swags and garlands of rosettes. The skirt is decorated with the same fielded diagonal diaper ground and florets with a central shell all resting upon two front cabriole legs with acanthus décor and hoof feet and two back straight legs.
