Description:
Swiss music box with 6" long cylinder. Circa 1890's-1920's. Pins and comb in excellent condition (no broken teeth). Plays perfectly. Spring wind-up smooth action and flywheel immediately responds when start switch is activated. 10 tunes such as, Rip Van Winkle, Amaryllis, Flash, Trovatore, The Corsais, Chimes of Normandy and others by Harrison, Arditi, Verdi and Byron. (paper tune list has been torn and mended and has a water stain smudging of last 4 tune titles--composers names are still visible--see photos. Box is scratched, with 4" split in wood of lid. Inlay design on lid is scratched. Small nicks in inlay. Corners rubbed and surfaces nicked. Actually, perhaps ironically, the patina with it's wear from use is very attractive. It has been well loved over many years. Glass cyliner lid is good and all switches and crank are original. Box is in fair to good condition, mechanism is very good. Complete and operational.
