Description:
This is an old beauty and dates to 1888 as stated on the handle support. The piece has probably been stored in a Barn or under a house at some time as there are signs of old borer holes. A part of the base looks like it has been replaced, as has the small box tray that catches the ground coffee. All the same it is just a marvelous authentic antique item and would be a great kitchen feature piece. This is a larger than usual Coffee Grinder with the box section being 5 1/2" high, 7" long, and 6" wide. The height to the top of the handle nob is 11". The handle and metal section is all in elaborately done in cast iron. The grinder is a large ball mechanism and works very well ...looks in great condition. There are the remnants of a paper instruction label on the inside of the storage door. No Makers name that I can see but think it is old American model.
