Description:
This is an antique Chinese hand mirror in its original box and probably dates from the late 19th to the early 20th century. The handle is made of carved jadeite or possibly nephrite in the shape of an ancient figure, although I'm not sure what, and there is a knob on the back of the handle. It is attached to the mirror with silver metal which I believe to be sterling but is not marked. The back of the mirror has a repousse serpent design in silver (also believed to be sterling) with beautiful detail. The glass in the mirror is flawless. This hand mirror comes in its original box, which has an orange and white sticker showing that it was made in China, and that the Art No. is R620-32, and there are also the letters "NPY" in brown marker. This mirror is truly an art piece!
