Antique Chinese Enameled Bronze Pill Snuff Box, C.1900
Description: Antique Chinese Enameled Bronze Pill Snuff Box, Early 20th C. China. The surface of the small rectangular box and hinged cover are decorated with a raised pattern (including fish, bats, flowers and urns) on an enameled blue ground. The gilded interior features two wedge shaped compartments. The underside of the handle to the cover is stamped: "CHINA". Price Comparison: $200-300 in Fine Art & Antiques Gallery. Dimensions: 1-5/8" High, 3-1/4" Wide, 1-3/4" Deep. Weight: 0.35lbs. (6oz.) Condition: There is considerable rubbing/wear to the gilding along the surface of the box. There is some minor cracking to the blue enamel along the surface with some minor chips/losses to the enamel (not really noticeable). There is some light oxidation to the surface and underside. Otherwise, the box is in good condition.
