Description: Authentic antique Chinese en tremblant jewelry enamel on silver hair ornament in the form of an insect - cricket crawling towards a flower. Well over 100 years old.

Measures 7 1/2 inches from end to end.
Fantastically crafted cricket, perched on a little wire, crawls towards a beautiful enamel flower, with long stamen ending in little wire-enclosed beads. The flower is attached to springs, so it bounces and quakes as the wearer moves her head (or from the slightest breeze). We believe there were originally two flowers, but the piece is very old and some allowances have to be made. Besides darkening of the silver caused over many years, the enamel and other parts are in good condition (see 'photos with all details enlarged).
