Description:
Antique Chinese 18th century Ching Dynasty gild bronze figure of Guanyin a goddess shown seated atop a mythical giant monstrous fish "Kun" in "dhyanasana" and holding a vase in her left hand and the right hand raised in a mudra, dressed in loosely draped robes and a cowl covering the high piled hair containing a figure of Buddha seated upon a lotus. This elegant and beautiful figure is finely executed with chiseled precise details. The figure is in good shape except that the gold gilding is mostly worn out. Also in the base is a hole with the mark of a file, both are later alterations which indicates that at some time the figure was mounted on a leather period base. Dimensions: Height: 23cm (9 in) length: 21cm (8 1 / 4 in). Width: 10cm (3 7/8 in). Due to the fact that the market is flooded by reproductions of Chinese antiques we would like to inform our clients that all our artifacts are 100% authentic antiques, not reproductions, and Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
