Description: This antique China trade chest dates from circa 1890 and was hand-crafted from aromatic camphor wood. Measures 41" long by 20" high by 20" deep. Features recessed pull-out handle, extensive brass banding and stout bail handles on left and right side. Single hinge keeps top in upright position. Recently refinished and in excellent condition. A couple light water spots on the top, but these likely can be buffed or polished out. Professionally photographed by its restorer, it's being sold here on behalf of a collector in Manhattan who owns an extensive collection of 19th century English colonial and Anglo-Indian furniture.
