Description:
This photo album is a work of art in celluloid, (both front and back) measures 10.25" x 8.5" x 1.75" and is in near perfect condition. The front cover depicts a Victorian mythical Fairy Princess print with embossed floral detail & scrolling decoration. The front cover is in very good condition with only two spots (lower left corner & upper right corner) showing some wear. There is some fine crazing taking place on front, but not on the back. (Perfect) The spline is covered with a dark gold velvet showing little wear, and the ornate brass clasp is intact & works fine. Inside there are 28 pages (for photos or cards) which are in good condition. All pages are intact with few age appropriate slot tears & some discoloration-signs of normal ageing (100+ yrs) The pages are gilted gold on the edges with a gold trim accent around the picture holder inside. The first page has a 1.5" tear on the extreme left bottom of page. (All can be professionally restored). There is a tiny label at bottom of inside cover: LB HERR BOOKSELLER LANCASTER, PA. The overall condition of this beautiful album is GREAT! A must have for any "Celluloid" or "Victorian/Art Nouveau Antique Collector".
