Description: So very hard to come by these days, it's been simply years since my last chance of having one of these in my possession. This Victorian figural box is carved in the form of a full figured gentleman, extremely well dressed in striped pants, waistcoat, black coat and sporting a top hat. The wooden box opens around the centre to refill with string or twine which is dispensed through a small hole in the mouth. Absolutely charming, fun and even useful! Dating to around 1880, he remains in excellent shape, with one tight age crack to hat rim (see photo) totally insignificant but mentioned for accuracy. Measures 4 1/2" tall. Shipping and insurance are included.
