Description: From a fine Rockland, Maine estate I have just acquired a small and lovely collection of Lorgnettes. This one is quite the stunning lorgnette. I love this one – it is so feminine and elegant. It is quite the specimen. The eye glass pieces are very good with no scratching. It has a very elaborate carved handle. The mechanics of this lorgnette work very well. I believe this is faux tortoise shell dating form the 1880’s to the 1890’s. It measures 10 ½” long when closed in the case.
