Description: From a fine Rockland, Maine estate I have just acquired a small and lovely collection of Lorgnettes. This one is in a nice small size made of tortoise shell. It is carved so very nicely, being light weight and very shapely in form as you can see! It is a wonderful eye ware jewelry item. I love the color of the tortoise shell it is truly delicious. Overall it has a few little nicks off the edges of the lorgnette case which can be felt rather then seen and one of eye glasses is cracked. Still all in all a wonderful, rare and exciting 19th century collectors items. It measures 5 ¼” long overall with the eye glass folded into the case.
