Description:
Talk about a lamp that makes a statement – this is a powerful piece. It is so handsomely carved in alabaster. You can see each feather of the wings on front and back. The rock that the eagle is perched on has the nicest striations. Look at his talons – they are so well formed, they are life like, pointed, so naturalistic. What I love most about this lamp is the colors – just as naturalistic as can be. The eagle has such a powerful stance. His eyes are glass and again life like. It has a huge ball shade on top that is made in two parts – a top and bottom. The top part of the shade has a very old crack in it that has been repaired – it is very difficult to see. To me it doesn’t matter much – it is rare enough and speaks volumes for the maker. His beak has a little touch –up. I suspect that at one point it was a little chipped and some one touched it up with very nice same color enamel – you can’t really see it but it is there. If you are into power and your lamp needs to make a statement look no farther this one is the end all! It measures a grand 34” at highest x 14” at widest x 12” at deepest.
