Description:
Camel Cigarette Porcelain Sign. Measures 12" x 36". It has some wear at the grommets area. Rare sign, and in very good condition considering the age. The gold background is more faded than what my camera is portraying. The lighting is showing this brighter than in person. The second photo is closer to actual color. This also comes out of a 35 year collection. THE SIGN IS PICTURED IN THE SCHIFFER BOOK "CAMEL CIGARETTE COLLECTIBLES THE EARLY YEARS" 1913 - 1963" BY DOUGLAS CONGDON-MARTIN. IT IS LISTED AS THE FIRST "NON-PAPER" SIGN EVER MADE FOR CAMEL. THE 1996 BOOK Has IT PICTURED ON PAGE 43. THE 1996 PRICE VALUE IS LISTED AT $4000 - $5000.
