Description: This is a wonderful figural sterling silver centerpiece beautifully and creatively made by the highly renowned silversmiths at Buccellati, Italy in the form of a branch holding 3 large and exquisitely detailed bowls which have been cleverly designed as leaves. The superbly crafted branch forms an elegant carrying handle and has been skillfully rendered to incorporate the texture of a tree branch, even complete with a realistic looking knot in the "wood". The leaf-shaped bowls have lovely textured interiors which have been nicely embellished with decoration invoking the veins appearing on real leaves. The exteriors have not been textured and therefore offer a pleasing contrast with their brighter silver finish which also shows the same vein-like decoration as the interiors. The bowls are all prettily ruffled around their upturned edges in the manner of real leaves and are quite charming and extremely distinctive in their appearance. Their large size makes them not only appealing to look at but also means that they are eminently functional as the interiors have been designed to hold a substantial amount of fruit, nuts, candy etc. The undersides of the bowls have been thoughtfully outfitted with small pieces of felt to protect the owner's table surface. The centerpiece is in excellent condition throughout with a bright luster on the exterior and a lovely soft patina on the gently stippled interiors. The decorative elements are all clearly and crisply defined and have been expertly and skillfully made. The underside of one of the bowls has been clearly stamped with the words Buccellati, Italy, and Sterling. This unique and unusual centerpiece would make a wonderful conversation piece and add a touch of creativity and sophistication to any table or sideboard. It measures approx. 20" at its widest point and stands approx. 4 " tall to the top of the handle. The individual bowls each measure approx. 10" in diameter
