Description: Antique Beechwood Side Table w/Original Marble c.1900 Antique French Beechwood Side Table with Original Marble Top in the Regence Style– Attributed to Ebeniste Gouffet – Very Good Antique Condition – Slight separation to frieze panels – Circa 1900. This French side table with original marble top is perfect for a table lamp at the end of any chair, sofa ,or bed. They are much sought after, as they are difficult to find in France-- the owners keep them and sell their larger items. It is in the French Regence style with a shaped and inset marble top over conforming hand carved case. The ornamentation is fine and deeply carved stylized acanthus leaf central shells with scrolling foliage. The shaped corners have indented acanthus leaf shells with hanging laurel leaf motif. The legs are a gentle s-curves terminating in a stylized scroll foot with acanthus leaf design H=31 1/8, W=35 1/8, D=25 ½ Please contact us if you would like more photos or information.
