Description: This is a lovely, detailed and deeply carved Bakelite (tested) rose with 3 veined leaves mounted on a gorgeous wood background. The Bakelite is ivory-colored with dark brown tints in the deep parts, which accentuates the petalsand details. The wood appears to be burled and has a lucious red patina. The edges are softly contoured. A C-style pin catch is affixed so 2 small round clear pieces, which are glued to the back. I am not an expert on jewelry, so please look at the close-ups and write me if you have any questions. I have estimated the age based on the kind of clasp, which, as far as I can tell, is original to the brooch.
