Description:
Antique American Beauty Iron. (w/stand). For your consideration is an antique electric iron, (minus the cord), with its original stand! Both the iron and stand are marked, and the iron has 3 patent dates. It reads: Patented May 1908, May 1914, Feb. 1916; LMP in a triangle, No. 6 1/2 B; American Electrical Heater Co., Detroit, USA, Volts 105-114, Watts 525. It is 6.5 inches high x 8 inches long, and is somewhat rusty. It has a great old hardwood handle that looks like it was used quite a bit! This must have been an iron for wealthy people since most people did not even have electricity that early in the century. You could use some navel jelly to dissolve some of the rust on this item if you do not like the rustic look, pun intended :). I think it is just great as it! Just be forewarned, this iron weighs about 7.5 lbs. It would make a great doorstop, or in your new, made to look vintage laundry room on top of a cabinet, or anywhere you like to display your antique items!
