Description:
Executed in 18 karat gold this is a gorgeous Art Nouveau pin of a woman in profile surrounded by flowers. Her posture and face are all shown with great detail including the folds of her dress and her upswept hair, and around her neck she wears a diamond studded choker. In her hand she clutches a bouquet of irises and that encircle both sides of the pin. All of the elements are naturalistically rendered and show the organic and sensuous curves of Art Nouveau decoration based on the style of the French jewelers Lalique and Fouquet. It is marked on the front with the names "E. Droopsy." It has a standard hinged gold pin on the back, which has been carefully detailed with leafy decoration. This pin measures approx. 1" high and approx. 1" wide. It is a fine example of French Art Nouveau jewelry design from the period around 1900. This beautiful pin would make a wonderful addition to any antique jewelry collection.
