Description:
1880's beautifully made, hand turned, spindle bed. A large, slightly oversized twin bed (an inch and a half longer, and a bit wider than normal. No special mattress or box spring needed as the mattress will sit on the framed flat woven metal piece that sits atop the log sides. Can be seen under the Quilt that lies atop it (see 2nd picture). Iron bars go through the front and back of the bed, and run alongside the log sides, to tighten the bed (can be seen in picture # one). The rods tighten up with large wing "nuts". Very good condition for the age of this bed. Small amount of rub marks on the lower portion of the headboard (will be covered by a mattress, which is probably what caused the marks.) Lovely, well constructed, extremely sturdy bed! We do our best to find the most economical shipping method, but feel free to arrange your own shipping!
