This incredible piece is an antique two-door oak bookcase from the 1800's that is in great condition. The top of the bookcase has a beveled mirror on the back which is surrounded by beautifully detailed applied carving. There are two glass doors that have a nicely shaped top edge, that open to four shelves. The top three are finished with a beveled edge. There are also two bottom drawers with very nice ornate hardware and dovetailed corners. The bookcase does come with a key, but when locking the front door, half of that piece is missing (you can see this in the photographs). Because of this, the doors will not stay shut or locked on their own. The overall dimensions of the bookcase are 75" in height, 46 1/2" from side to side, 15" from front to back, and weight is approximately 120 pounds. The shelves are all 43" from side to side and 11 1/4" from front to back. The first shelf is 11 5/8" in height, the second and third shelves are 11 1/2" in height, and the bottom one is 9 3/8" in height. The drawers measure 5 3/8" deep, 20 1/8" from side to side, and 9 3/8" from front to back. We do have more photographs that we can email if you are interested.
