Description:
Ansonia's double figural called "Frolic" features a 30 hour timepiece in the center with man holding his hat & a woman holding a cluster of flowers in her hand just enjoying the day. This rare clock was probably a white metal finished in silver; but due to oxidation, the finish is pretty well worn off. (see pictures) These Ansonia novelties are hard to come by in complete condition-this one doesn't have any cracks or breaks in the casting. The 2" dial is in excellent condition with the "A" trademark (in diamond design)on top, and at bottom: MANUFACTURED BY THE ANSONIA CLOCK CO NEW YORK UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The bevel glass is also perfect. The back easel type leg supports this gem of antiquity. For its age, I believe this clock to be in very good condition, but will be sold "AS IS" and truly deserves a professional cleaning and some adjustments. A very special addition to your collection!!!
